My brother asked me to make something nice for his girlfriend’s birthday and I chose a Mochimochiland pattern. It was actually really easy to follow as I am still working on my knitting skills. I hope Laura (the girl’s name) will like them.

I’m sorry for this short post but I was sick the last few days and now have some serious catching up on oral exams stuff to do. The exam will be June 15th – so I’m in a hurry.

I’m back. Yeah, I really am. I know it’s been a while, but I really had to get my head straight and focus again. When this year started there were just too many things messing with my head and I couldn’t concentrate on anything, but know I can – finally. I’m currently working on my final thesis for university – I’m writing on irony in different media types which is more interesting than I thought and takes way more time than I expected. Also I’m working on my first knitting pattern – hooray for me!

So things will be interesting here in taschenmaedchen-land so make sure you stay tuned. The material:

Felt, yarn in two colours, safety / brooch pin, invisible fabric marker, scissors, needle and an embroidery hoop

Take a round stencil (I used a yarn spool) to measure your button. Choose how many holes the button is supossed to have an draw them with your invisible fabric marker onto the felt.

Take the needle and the yarn and stitch along the lines.

Cut the button out. Take the different coloured yarn and your brooch pin, sew the pin to the felt using the „button holes“.

Continue until your pin is really secured and can’t fall off. You’re done!

KawaiiGurumi’s Reindeer. So cute. I have to make one! I really have to!

Aren’t these owls just so gorgeous? I really really love. I bought the pattern a few days ago for myself. Really love irenestrange’s shop. <3

Amigurumi Paradise’s pattern was my favourite last year. I made like eight of each figure and gifted them to my family. My grandma was immidiately in love with them and wanted even more. I also adore this

angel (also Amigurumi Paradise). Isn’t she pretty?

I already crocheted some of these angels from eureeka’s window’s shop. My favourite one is the singing angel.

Owlishly also offers a very beautiful angel with nice hair and the instructions to make the hair look so well are very detailed and clear.

Well, of course I like my own pattern – otherwise I wouldn’t have created it. I’m really proud of the reindeer’s look. I had a hard time figuring out how to shape the head.

Rachel, also a red velvet girl, prepared this granny square blanket for the arrival of her new baby girl. An awesome project with, I guess about 70 granny squares. Doesn’t the picture look perfect? Blogged here.

Today I’m still feeling a little bit sick and I’m not working on new projects / patterns or tutorials and so I’m thinking about what to cook (or better: what my husband has to cook for us today ). I want to share some nice recipes with you.

Creamed Spinach with Bacon – looks very yummie and I really like spinach. And maybe I do love bacon. Ooooh yes, I do.

New potatoes with Cheese and Tomatoes – I like tomatoes and I love cheese. For me every meal could be bacon and cheese. Well – maybe this wouldn’t be that healthy.

Asian Roasted Carrots – I’m not sure if I would eat them. My husband would – he’s a total vegetable junkie. But they really look nice on this white table.

Sauerkraut with Bacon and Apples – I know I’m german and I have to deal with the cliché of Germans loving Sauerkraut. In fact I really like eating it in autumn and winter and it tastes great. And apples are fine too and as you can see I obviously do have a bacon problem. If you’re looking for some recipes or some cooking inspiration try this amazingly great blog. Nom nom nom.

At the moment I am totally in love with the new (okay new here in Germany) tv show Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. At first I didn’t want to watch it but now I enjoy every episode. It’s so interesting to see this theme from such a perspective. And I really like the style of Belle / Hannah, very classy „at work“

As I promised a while ago – there will be a tutorial when I’m back. So here it is – crocheted yarn spools. I wanted to make some autumn-coloured decoration and then the idea came. The spools are really easy and quick to make. You can have them in many different colours, they’re a nice gift for every crafty person ou know and they will look super cute on your working desk.
